
Koh Kong Port & Other Ports
System of three ports: Paklong, Koh Kong Town, Sre Ambel.
Near Thai border; used by boats <500 DWT.

Facilities
- Paklong: customs clearance, 300-ton boats (500 tons at anchorage).
- Koh Kong Town: unloading/transshipment.
- Sre Ambel: 120–130-ton boats, near Road 4 (170 km from Phnom Penh).
Accessibility
- No road access to rest of Cambodia (Road 43 only for motorcycles).
- Larger vessels require transshipment.
- Facilities limited and congested.
Fishing Activity
- Exported ~16,000 tons of fish to Thailand in 1993.
Kampot Port
- 148 km from Phnom Penh via Road 3; 166 km by rail.
- Located on riverbank, 4 km from sea.
- Historically important; now mainly domestic/lighter traffic.
- Approaches: northern channel (10 m depth), southern channel (<4.6 m draft).
- Wooden jetty for 30–40 ton boats.
- Regular trade with Koh Kong (Thailand exchange).
- Not used for international traffic.


Kompong Cham & Kompong Ampil
- Domestic river ports.
- Kompong Ampil (Takeo province): trade with Vietnam via Bassac River.
- Boats typically 25–30 ton capacity.
